About Emily Schatzow
A longtime resident of Cambridge, MA, Emily Schatzow has completed undergraduate training in psychology and graduate training in counselor education at the University of Wisconsin and Boston University, respectively. For the past 45 years, she has operated her own private psychotherapy practice in Cambridge, MA, offering both professional consultation and therapy sessions to benefit individuals, couples, and families. Emily Schatzow’s specific areas of expertise include group psychotherapy and the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.
Since 1989, Ms. Schatzow has also served as a senior consultant with VISIONS, Inc. Her responsibilities with VISIONS revolve around training and advising organizations interested in strengthening their diversity and inclusion policies.
Ms. Schatzow previously spent 13 years as a group services coordinator with the Victims of Violence Program at the Cambridge Health Alliance. This position involved the development and supervision of trauma-focused therapeutic groups. She also created group psychotherapy curricula for an affiliated trauma survivors seminar and performed administrative functions such as pairing co-facilitators with staff members and trainees.
